Delhi police thanks Gujarat police for help in blasts probe

In a press conference at Delhi in connection with recent Delhi blasts probe, Delhi’s joint Police Commissioner (Special Cell) Karnail Singh shared some information and links related to Ahmedabad blasts. JCP Singh said “Delhi police is helped by Intelligence Bureau, Gujarat police and Rajasthan police in blasts probe. We are thankful to them. We started our investigation from leads given by Gujarat Police. Tauqueer and Ateek had connection. We went ahead from that point.”

Clarifying link between Ahmedabad and Delhi blasts JCP Singh said “11 persons involved in Delhi blasts had gone to Ahmedabad. 3 stayed there while rest of them came back to Delhi on 16th or 17th of Jully. However these 8 persons again went back to Ahmedabad from Delhi on 23rd of July. In Ahmedabad they had local support. Some of the locals are already arrested by Gujarat police. Bombs in Ahmedabad were planted with their help on 26th of July.”

“One Delhi blast suspect Sajid who is absconding was involved in making of the bombs for Delhi and Ahmedabad blasts,” Singh said.

JCP Singh said that Delhi blasts accused were involved in Varanasi, Faizabad, Ahmedabad, Delhi and Jaipur blasts. However their involvement in Surat is confirmed. Surat module is yet to identify.

On questions about news related to 14 year old child’s involvement in blasts JCP Singh said that there was not truth in this. He said “Leads on 14 year old child came from Gujarat police interrogation but what they claimed as 14 year old was actually Sajid who is now dead in yesterday’s Delhi encounter and he was not 14 year old. Gujarat police has identified Sajid.”

On Saif’s visit to Ahmedabad, he said “We got fake election identity card of fictitious person ‘Rahul Sharma’ from Saif who was arrested from Batla house. When we asked Saif about this, Saif told us that he used to create and keep such fake cards to buy Sim card of mobile phone. He would buy fake id card and then would not pay the bills. However when police trapped him by saying that his real photograph on his fake id card had already identified by Gujarat police, then he revealed that he had traveled using this fake id card to Ahmedabad. He had another fake id card of Pankaj also. Both Rahul Sharma and Pankaj were fictitious characters.”
