One of the greatest Indian film actors Paresh Rawal today said that “the credit for Slumdog Millionaire getting eight Oscar awards should go to India’s ruling Congress party because without years of Congress rule there would not have been slums in India.” Paresh speaking at Ahmedabad’s Town hall on the occasion of renown Gujarati humorist Tarak Mehta’s book release said that such true in spirit SMSes are in circulation nowadays. People gathered in the hall clapped and shouted with joy in response to this.
Paresh compared Chief Minister Narendra Modi(who was present on the same dias) with Lal Bahadur Shastri, Jay Prakash Narayan, Atal Bihari Vajpayee and even Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
“In an interview with Pritish Nandy for illustrated Weekly, late JRD Tata had once said that if Sardar Patel was India’s first Prime Minister instead of Jawaharlal Nehru, nation’s future could be different and better. Today Sardar Patel is not there but a suitable person is here, and we feel same about him,” Paresh said pointing out a finger at Narendra Modi.
Earlier film actors such as Anupam Kher, Preity Zinta, Shatrughna Sinha, Rakhi Sawant, Sunil Shetty have supported and admired Narendra Modi’s leadership openly at different occasions.
