Widespread dissatisfaction among party workers over ticket distribution in Ahmedabad

There is wide-spread dissatisfaction in section of party workers in Ahmedabad due to selection of candidates in various wards.

A group of party workers on Thursday broke glasses of Khanpur based state BJP office, protesting against what they said, unfair selection of candidates in number of eastern Ahmedabad wards.

Party workers of Vatva ward were against party’s decision to allot ticket to a person from SC/OBC background on general seat.

In some wards, the party workers oppose party’s ‘no repeat’ theory. In some other wards, the party workers are not ready to accept outside candidate.

While BJP is facing trouble in areas dominated by Hindu voters, the Congress head quarter witnessed protests from the wards where Muslims are in majority.

On the issue of allotting Jamalpur area ticket to Badruddin Sheikh who is from Shah Alam, the sitting Muslim Congress MLA of Jamalpur, Sabir Kabliwala held a protest rally and vowed not to allow outside candidate at any cost.

In city’s Bapunagar area and surrounding belt, some BJP workers are ready to announce a bandh call against what they say unfair ticket distribution.

Supporters of former minister of state for Home Amit Shah are demanding candidature of Naulesh Patel. Patel is deprived of party ticket, though he is popular in local former Nagar Palika, according to his supporters.

In Naroda, a large group of party workers are demanding ticket allotment according to geography. They want someone to be selected from Nava Naroda.
