Some questions to Gujarat Congress leaders, after their EVM cry

Some questions to Gujarat Congress leaders, after their EVM cry
Ahmedabad, 15 October, 2010

Some questions arising from Gujarat Congress’s EVM cry.

-Why Shankarsinh Vaghela who was not seen in any pre-election press conference of Gujarat Congress, suddenly popped up at post-defeat press conference?

-Why Vaghela was sitting in centre in press conference. Tradition suggests that Party President should sit in centre, and he was present there, but he was sitting next to Vaghela.

-Significant is the fact that for the first time, Congress party admitted that Electronic Voting Machines can be rigged(we asked Shri Subramaniam Swami’s take on this and he replied us on Twitter that “they know if they can( do it to others), then it is possible, others will do it to them.

-Vaghela told media that EVMs were controlled by Chief Minister office. In this case should we understand that in Lok Sabha polls, EVMs were controlled by Sonia Gandhi’s home?

-Vaghela lost Lok Sabha polls last year. According to his logic, he was defeated by whom then?

-If Narendra Modi controlled the EVMs, why then opposition leader of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation Surendra Bakshi won by margin of 7 votes? Couldn’t Modi’s engineers managed rigging of seven votes?

-Why did the Congress party didn’t say a word on EVM before the polls? Or even after the polls, but before the result?

-On Tuesday at 10:18 PM the leader of opposition Shaktisinh Gohil writes on Facebook “We accept the public mandate graciously. We will introspect and work upon our mistakes while we continue to serve the public in true secular and committed manner.” This is on Facebook record. But look at the double speak of this opposition leader. Within just 13 hours, he addresses a press conference to tell that it was EVM that was rigged by Modi, and therefore they lost the election. While on Facebook, Shaktisinh clearly states that they(the Congress people)accept the public mandate graciously – just after 13 hours he says that the mandate was rigged, and unacceptable until inquiry!!! While on Facebook Shaktisinh says, they(the Congress people) will introspect and work upn their mistakes – just after 12 hours in press conference Shaktisinh hints there’s no need of instrospection as party’s defeat was due to EVM rigging, and there’s no mistake of the party!!!! Now what a double speak this is. If leaders change their belief every 13 hours, then how one cany rely them!!

-If EVM machines are the problem, and if it is really a serious enough matter, then why Gujarat Congress doesn’t challange Panchayats and Nagarpalika polls that are to be held through EVMs!! In fact why Gujarat Congress is fielding candidates in scheduled local polls of 21 October, when EVMs are to be used, and same machinery is at work?

-After Jasdan, Chotila, Danta, Radhanpur, Dahegam by poll defeats, Gujarat Congress President Siddharth Patel argued that the defeat was due to poor selection of candidates. After Kathlal poll, Patel claimed that his party lost due to Rs. 50 crore expenditure of Modi to win the sit. Now after civic poll defeat, Patel has another reason ready after two-day disappearance act. He cries EVM rigging. Patel will be replaced by another leader as Gujarat Congress President in November. Before that, we have Panchayat and Nagarpalika results(on 23 October), and another dose of Siddharth Patel brand logic on loosing elections. Are the people of Gujarat stupid Mr. Siddharth Patel? Aren’t you going to learn something from defeat?
