AMC seals Chokhi Dhani Village Restaurant in Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation’s Estate department team today sealed a popular Chokhi Dhani Rajasthani village restaurant located near Sarkhej Gandhinagar highway near Iskcon circle.
According to AMC sources, the open restaurant has been sealed for illegal construction.
Chokhi Dhani has opened in recent past, but it has become a hang out place for rich Amdavadis of western Ahmedabad. A Rajasthani dish for Rs 450 is not so tasty, but activities such as magic show, kathputli show, mallakham show, traditional dancers and music, the surrounding, the overall experience that this facility offers has found many takers.
AMC will allow reopening of Chokhi Dhani only after the operators fulfill all requirements as per the law.

According to AMC’s communication to press, Chokhi Dhani is standing over 20,000 square ft and its construction has been done without permission on Jodhpur ward’s TP scheme no. 51 final plot no 8 , 10, 13, 15, 16/2, 22/3, 32, 37, 41, 42, 43, 44, 46+47/4. The statement further sas that the restaurant is sealed in as-it-is condition and usage of the property has been prevented.
