Memorandum submitted to Tapi Collector against evangelist event

Songadh, 25 February, 2012

South Gujarat’s Tapi district dharma raksha committee has submitted a memorandum to district collector requesting him to stop a three-day ‘Bless Gujarat Prayer Festival 2012’ apprehending a danger of mass religious conversion.

Dharmaraksha samiti in its memorandum said that Songadh Taluka’s Gunsada village based Sugar factory compound is hosting three-day prayer festival under the banner of ‘Jesus call’. There’s huge money involved in organizing this event. It should be checked whether foreign funding is involved in this or not. Also a Trust that has sought permission of this event, its registration deed, its constitution and FCI copy should be given.

Samiti in its memorandum said that the organizers of the event have used helicopter in prohibited area. An offense should be registered therefore against them. Also, whether sugar factory has permitted to hold this event on its ground or not?

Samiti has demanded a copy of sugar factory’s approval, and detail of rent sugar factory has recovered.

Dharma raksha samiti has also asked collector to check all vehicles coming from outside the state through RTO.

It should be mentioned here that three-day programme of southern India based evangelist Paul Dhinakeren will be ending on Sunday evening.

Congress leaders including a Christian MLA, and union minister on stage

Central minister Tushar Chaudhary, Vyara MLA(Christian) Punaji Gamit, district panchayat President Mavji Chaudhary, district Congress President Rajesh Gamit etc were seen on the stage of the evangelist. Tushar Chaudhary even addressed the assembly.
