All India Congress Committee’s President and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi will be visiting Rajkot today.

Sonia will arrive at Rajkot airport in the morning and visit Ramkrishna Ashram, Kaba Gandhi no delo and Bal bhawan, after which she will reach Racecourse ground where she will be addressing a farmers rally. Gujarat Congress is expecting to attract two lakh people from Saurashtra and Kutch to attend the rally.

After spending only few hours in the city, Sonia Gandhi will leave Rajkot at around 12.55 pm.

All of Gujarat Congress’s MLAs, MPs, city and district unit presidents, state office bearers, union ministers elected from Gujarat etc have been asked to remain present in this rally.

Sonia’s political secretary Ahmed Patel is in Rajkot.

Possibilities:
-Sonia may read out around 10-15 minute long speech.

-She may describe the promises given by Gujarat Congress and assure people that the Congress doesn’t make hollow promises.

-She may accuse the BJP of improper use of funds sent by the Central govt for the development of Gujarat.

-Sonia may remind farmers that the Congress party waived off farmers loans worth Rs 60,000 crores. She may also mention that Congress reserved 50% seats in Panchayats for women.

-Sonia may remind people that killers of Gandhiji are ruling the state.

-She may list center-sponsored schemes, including MNREGA, JNURM, Rajiv Gandhi Vidyut Nigam Yogna, Rajiv Gandhi Savasthya Mission and mid-day meal schemes which UPA launched for the benefit of all sections of the society.

-She may say Gujarat is under a huge debt.

-She may mention that the centre hiked MSP of crops.

-She may say that after Independence the Congress governments were instrumental in constructing big dams, power houses and rail workshops.

-She may say the UPA government at the Centre never differentiated between a state governed by Congress and a non-Congress ruled state.

-She may say that the Congress is fighting the election for the welfare of the state and its people, especially the poor, who have the right to live with dignity.

-She may speak of the Gujarat Congress’s announced thus far for farmers and villagers..

-She may touch the FDI in retail issue and tell the farmers that it is good for them.

-She may touch on the issue of suicides of farmers in Saurashtra.

-She may say that no new dams projects have been initiated under Modi’s rule.
