In a press statement issued by the Gujarat Parivartan Party (GPP) today, Shri Keshubhai Patel is quoted as saying that one should forget casteism and religionism and should keep only Gujaratism in mind. This is a novel statement from Keshubhai’s side, because very existence of his party is based on Leuva Patel casteism. Keshubhai had addressed number of Leuva Patel conventions before announcing formation of his new party. Due to one of such conventions, Junagadh district had witnessed violent clashes between Leuva Patels and Kathi darbars.
“To remove the government that exploits the people, and to elect the government that may bring balance development,
You need to forget thinking in a way that this candidate is from my caste. Only Gujaratism has to be there and not casteism,” Keshubhai said in his Parivartan yatra rally at Mahuva in Bhavnagar district.
“This government has slowed down the Narmada project. It will take decades for completion of all canals. This government has mishandled Kalpasar project. If you want completion of Narmada project and Kalpasar, please select mature people who can work tactfully. This is a historic moment, if you miss the opportunity of change this time, your future generations will suffer,” he further said.
Next phase of Keshubhai’s Parivartan yatra will begin on Thursday from Gandhinagar.
