Former ruler of Vadodara state Shri Sayajirao Gaekwad had himself offered this necklace to Bechraji mata’s murthy.

According to mandir officials, Navlakha necklace is valued at around Rs 200 crore today.

The necklace adorned Bechraji’s idol can be seen only once a year on Dussera amid heavy police security. It is otherwise kept under district collector’s custody.

When Mataji’s palkhi moves outside mandir, the local police force offers rifle salute as per the tradition.
