Narendra Modi to dedicate a new Cricket stadium this Sunday

Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Narendra Modi will inaugurate a new full-scale cricket stadium this Sunday in Rajkot. Modi had performed ground breaking for construction of this stadium six years back.
The stadium is ready for inauguration on Rajkot-Jamnagar highway. It has been developed by Saurashtra Cricket Association. It has state-of-the-art facilities. The new stadium can accommodate 27,000 persons.
These details were shared by Shri Niranjan Shah, Honorary Secretary of Saurashtra Cricket Association.
“The stadium, built at a cost of Rs 75 crore, is spread over 5.50 lakh square feet ares and the land was purchased in 2004 near Khandheri on Rajkot-Jamnagar highway,” Shah said, adding Modi himself had laid its foundation stone in 2006.
BCCI Chief Shrinivasan and other office bearers, Gujarat Cricket Association’s Amit Shah, BJP leader Narhari Amin and others will attend the inauguration function which is scheduled to be held around noon this Sunday.
A new stadium will host its first international cricket match on 11th between England and India.
