Ahmedabad, 3 January 2013
Congress MP Vitthal Radadia has taken a decision to resign from Porbandar Lok Sabha seat today. Radadia was elected as Porbandar MP in 2009 general elections. He later contested and won Dhoraji assembly seat during recently concluded Gujarat assembly elections. He had to take decision on whether to resign from Lok Sabha seat or assembly seat. While Radadia wanted to hold assembly seat, the party high command wanted him to hold Lok Sabha seat. After long consultation with party’s leadership in Delhi, Radadia was allowed to resign from Lok Sabah seat. This will invite LS seat by-poll in next six months. According to party sources, Gujarat Congress President Arjun Modhwadia who recently lost Porbandar assembly seat, could contest Porbandar Lok Sabha by-poll on Congress ticket.
Update: Radadia submits resignation.
