Rajkot, 18 May 2013
Rajkot district vice president of BJP Shri Bhupat Dabhi has withdrawn his nomination on Jetpur seat in support of BJP candidate Jayesh Radadia.
Dabhi is district level Koli community leader and aide of BJP leader Jayantibhai Dhol.
Against party’s decision to field former Congress man Jayesh Radadia as candidate in Jetpur assembly by-poll, Dabhi had filed nomination form. However, after party’s efforts, he withdrew his nomination as expected.
There was some micro level uneasiness in BJP’s taluka and district level leaders over party’s decision to induct Congress leader Vitthal Radadia and his son Jayesh Radadia. However, ahead of the by-polls it seems party has successfully managed the issue.
In his statement after withdrawal of form, Bhupat Dabhi said that he was called by Chief Minister and as per the direction given by Shri Modi he decided to withdraw the form. He added that as per the direction of Shri Modi, a meeting with Vijaybhai Rupani and Vitthalbhai Radadia was organized yesterday, after which he was satisfied and decided to withdraw nomination and support BJP candidate.
