Cheat and run: A driver hired through online advertisement flees with car on first day of his job

Giving an online advertisement for driver’s job proved costly for Ahmedabad based Aamanpritsingh Chhabra. An unknown person posing as driver, fled with Chhabra’s car on the first day of job!

According to a complaint registered in Ahmedabad’s Anandnagar police station, Amanpritsingh Balvirsingh Chhabra lives at Shaligram residencey in Prahladnagar area. He has his transport business, and owns an office in Aslali area. Chhabra bought a Ford Icon car last year and needed driver. As per his instruction, his manager Kishanbhai’s son posted online advertisement for driver’s job on BabaJob.Com website. One month after that, a person ‘Arvind’ came to meet Mr. Chhabra for driver’s job, and told that he was originally from Limbdi village, but presently living in rented room in Sola area of Ahmedabad with four friends and he was earlier a driver on contract basis working with ONGC.

Chhabra gave him a job for Rs 7,000 per month, and handed over keys of his car to Arvind yesterday and asked him to park it outside. Chhabra with his manager Kishanbhai went to take another car to parking.

Soon after some time Chhabra found that a person named Arvind whom he had hired for the job of driver had fled with car! Later, after searching for Arvind, Chhabra found that Arvind’s name and address were bogus!

Police is investigating the case by tracking mobile phone of ‘Arvind’.
