More MPs(as many as nine) today came out in open and said that they had not signed a letter to Obama, and signatures next to their names are fake.
NCP MP Sanjiv Naik denies signing the letter to the US.
CPI(M) leader Sitaram Yechury has already denied signing the letter.
DMK MP KP Ramalingam and CPI MP M.P.Achutan Das have also denied of having sign on any letter drafted to Obama.
BJP has accused that Congress’s “dirty tricks department” is behind forged signature of MPs. BJP has demanded a probe with Lok Sabha speaker.
It should be mentioned that the list of 65 MPs had actually 64 signatures. Three of them were duplicate. Now at least nine MPs are denying that they ever signed such draft.

NCP Leader, Sanjeev Naik claimed that his signature on said petition was fake, and he will take up this matter to the Speaker. He said he read his name in the newspaper and came to know that such and such thing has happened and his name and signature is present there.

But a man behind the letters and signature campaign, independent Rajya Sabha MP Mohammad Adeeb maintains that all signatures including the signature of Sitaram Yechuri are real and not fake. Adeeb said Sitaram Yechuri has written his name and signature on the page where purpose of this letter is clearly written.

Even more interesting is this statement of former CPI MP Syed Azeez Pasha. He reveals that originally a campaign was initiated by US based NRI professor from Delhi Ms. Loomba. Pasha says that he vaguely remembers that Yechuri had signed the letter.

Modifying India – an organization based in Delhi has filed complaint in Delhi regarding forged signature row.
