Chief Minister Narendra Modi inspirationally addressed to create such India as was envisioned by Swami Vivekanand and stated, “India will become a global educator by making its youth more skillful.’’

Mr. Modi appealed to the youths to firmly determine following the visions of Swami Vivekanand who had immense faith in the Indian youths and societies.

Gujarat has initiated to celebrate the 150 th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekanand from 11th January 2012 and also announced it as ‘ Yuva Varsh’ along with organizing a Falk-Skill development During this span of a two-
year, there have been taken place a range of inspiring campaigns enlightening great thoughts and principles of Swami Vivekanand for youth inspiration and education. Mr. Modi today distributed prizes and appraisal certificates to the winners of elocution and essay competitions held in various schools and
colleges.

Mr. Modi expressed, ‘‘where there is a lack of ideal principles and values, it’s the ideal life of Swami Vivekanand which is truly an inspirational source to inculcate and arouse patriotism in the nation. The youth power with full of confidence is truly exemplified by Swami Vivekanand.’’

“During the British rule, Swami Vivekanand had amazingly demonstrated the real spiritual traditions, cultures and great heritage of India in front of the world at a religious conference held in America. Not for his personality or prestige but for valuing great knowledge and culture of India, he had given inspirational speech in America”, Mr. Modi said.

Shri Modi recalled Swami Vivekanand was a visionary of India. He foretold that he would leave the Earth at the age of 39. Swami ji also stated to leave aside all deities for 50 years and only devote to Bharat Mata and exactly 50 years later India got freedom.

Likewise, Shri Modi said that the great Swami Vivekananda dreamt that India would become the Jagat Guru (leader of the world) and that the Indian youths would be the drivers of this change.

Chief Minister said, “Celebrating this 150 th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekakand as ‘ Yuva Varsh’ across the villages, Gujarat has taken up a wide range of campaigns to add up to the skillfulness and dexterities of the youth.’’

He further stressed upon to encourage skill training rather than formal degrees and thereby this can contribute to the development of India.

In this regard, Shri Modi said, “ the importance given by the Gujarat Government towards skill development initiatives for the youth and also a model of the infrastructural facilities for the same which was honoured by Prime Minister of India with the national award for the Best Skill Development. He also asked the other states to follow the same model. The skill development centres across Gujarat have boosted up 60% of women power in the skill development.”

Speaking about the penance and spiritual value of Swami Vivekanand who made Swami Ramkrishna Paramhans as his teacher, Mr. Modi said, “his aim to start a mission called Ramkrishna Mission was not for religious restrictions but was for the welfare for each and every needy person of the society.”

During the initial phase of this ceremony, Sports, Youth and Cultural Activities Minister Mr. Ramanlal Vora outlined about the initiation and success of various programmes held for celebrating the 150th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekanand as a Yuvashakti Varsh.

On this occasion Mr. Modi unveiled two books written by Mr. ikhileshwaranandji’s “Vivekanand Gujaratma” and Mr. Vishnu Pandya’s “Utishthit Gujarat”. Ms. Arunima Sinha who reached to the top of the Mount Everest with her prosthetic leg was honored by Chief Minister.

On this occasion, the State Cabinet Ministers Mr. Nitinbhai Patel, Mr. Bhupendrasinh Chudasama, Mr. Babubhai Bokhiria, State Ministers Mr. Pradipsinhji Jadeja, Smt. Vasuben Trivedi, Mr. Nanubhai Vanani and Deputy Speaker of the State Assembly Mr. Mangubhai Patel and higher-authorities and officials to the government and a large numbers of youth-students were present.
