A newly opened Subhash Chandra Bose marine aquarium at Pal received so good response that Surat Municipal Corporation(SMC) had to introduce an advance booking system for visitors. However advance booking is not convenient to visitors who come from outside the city.

The SMC is therefore going to launch premium ticket section. Those who buy premium ticket at higher rates will be allowed to get instant entry. SMC run aquarium has so far earned around Rs. 10 crore through revenue of tickets. Then Chief Minister and present Prime Minister Narendra Modi had inaugurated this aquarium early this year, ahead of the Lok Sabha general elections.

Author’s note: Premium ticket is one solution, but better solution for visitors could be launching of online tickets. The SMC could allot certain share of tickets for online booking.
