The State Election Commission of Gujarat today announced the dates of Junagadh Municipal Corporation election.

Notification: 30 June
Final date of filing nomination: 5 July
Scrutiny of forms: 7 July
Last date of withdrawing forms: 8 July
Polling: 20 July
Counting: 22 July

By-polls of 10 seats in 9 municipalities will also be held as per the same schedule presented above.

Five-year term of elected body of Junagadh Municipal Corporation is going to end in the last week of July.

Junagadh is the only municipal corporation ruled by Congress. However at present the ruling political body is in minority. All major faces of Junagadh Congress including Deputy Mayor have joined BJP a few weeks back.
