Dwarka, 19 July 2014
After more than a year and half, the Archaeological Survey of India(ASI) has opened the main front-side gate of Dwarkadhish Jagat mandir in Dwarka town of Gujarat.
The gate was closed in year 2012 due to extra ordinary rush during Diwali vacation. However it was not reopened even after Diwali vacation. The local administration had claimed security reasons behind the decision.
Local shop keepers had agitated against the decision to close the gate permanently. A group of locals had even started dharna, but the administration continued to close the gate.
After around year and half period, the gate has been reopened today.
