Amul issues clarification on milk pouch controversy on social media
July 21, 2014

Ahmedabad, 21 July 2014
Following circulation of Amul packet photo in negative shade over Whatsapp, Amul had to issue clarification over the photograph through its own social media platform.
There was a photo of Amul milk pouch in circulation today on social media claiming that its 21 July as of now, but Amul milk pouch shows packing date of 23 July, how’s that possible! That’s cheating.
In response to this, Amul on its social media platforms clarified that 23rd July printed on pouch was “use by date” and not “packing date”, and this detail is also printed on the packet.
Amul further said that under FSSAI regulations- food products, having shelf life of less than 7 days should have to print the “use by” date on their packing.
