SPV to implement the Surat Outer Ring Road project

The city of Surat will constitute a Special Purpose Vehicle(SPV) for proposed outer ring road project. This decision was taken in the standing committee meeting of the Surat Municipal Corporation(SMC). The meeting authorized Municipal Commissioner of Surat for further procedure in this direction.
Proposed outer ring road is 63 km long. SMC and Surat Urban Development Authority(SUDA) is going construct 29 km stretch for which they have finalized 11 town planning schemes and residential zone on 500 meter land on both sides.
A meeting chaired by Chief Minister was held on 19th of this month to discuss the project which has to be implemented applying global standards. The decision on formation of SPV was taken in that meeting.
SMC, SUDA and state government officials are likely to be placed in proposed SPV.
