Modi tweets in Japanese

New Delhi, 28 August 2014

Ahead of his visit to Japan which is scheduled to start from 30th of August, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today posted a few tweets in Japanese language on twitter.

Modi tweeted: Friends from Japan asked me to talk to the people of Japan directly in Japanese. I also thank them for helping with the translation.

Then Modi posted several tweets in Japanese, translation of which are available in the picture above this article.

His tweets were replied by Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe who follows only three people on twitter including Narendra Modi.

Mr. Abe in his three tweets said: Your first visit to Japan as Indian PM will add a new chapter to our strategic partnership. India has a special place in my heart. I am eagerly waiting for your arrival in Kyoto this weekend. Together we can do a lot for peace and prosperity in the world.

It should be mentioned that on 26 August Shri Modi had posted several tweets in English on his Japan visit. Modi tweeted: On 30th August I will begin my visit to Japan. I am keenly looking forward to the visit, which will boost relations between our two nations. Japan visit will be my first bilateral visit outside the subcontinent. I was to visit in early July but could not due to parliament session. I see the Japan visit as an opportunity to take our ties with Japan to a new level and increase cooperation in various fields. I will visit Tokyo and Kyoto and will interact with all sections of Japanese society from students, political leaders to captains of industry. I have very warm memories of visiting Japan as a Chief Minister. The hospitality and the immense scope for cooperation left a deep impression on my mind. The scale of innovation and level of precision among the people of Japan is admirable. Both our national can learn a lot from each other. I am particularly excited to meet Prime Minister Abe Shinzo. I deeply respect his leadership and enjoy a warm relationship with him from previous meetings. Japan’s friendship with India is time tested. We are two vibrant democracies committed to advancing peace and prosperity in the world.
