Longest incense stick in Jamnagar ganeshotsav

Jamnagar based Ganesh Madal has made a unique 51 ft long incense stick with 3 ft circumference, having total weight of 300 kg this year for the ongoing Ganeshotsav. The festive fervor is at its peak and everyone is trying to make it unique in their own ways. This giant incense stick is claimed to be one of the largest incense sticks in the world. It has been made by the Dagdu seth ganpati mahotsav committee of Jamnagar. This committee comes up with unique creations every year during Ganesh festival .

Two years ago they made 145 kg ‘Bhakhri’(a kind of Gujarati wheat bread) and 11,111 kg ‘ladoo’(round shaped traditional sweet) and claimed place in Guinness Book of world records. This year the committee decided to make this giant incense stick. On Tuesday this giant incense stick was torched. Many people will flocked to pandal to witness this giant and fragrant event.

Bharatsinh Parmar , one of the organizers said that this gaint incense stick was prepared by 20 persons in just 5 days , which comprise of bamboo, charcoal dust , jiggit , guar gum & kokam. Prior to its burning, it was under the process of drying, after which it was covered with wrapper of rose and other perfume ingredients.
