Gujarat Congress has today shared more details about its Rajkot West assembly seat candidate Jayantibhai Kalaria(71).
Jayantibhai Kalaria’s father Bhagvanjibhai Patel was freedom fighter and disciple of former Chief Minister of Saurashtra Mr. Dhebar. Jayantibhai’s father was MLA of Dhoraji-Upleta area during 1955-1962. Jayantibhai Kalaria was General Secretary of Dharmendrasinhji college in year 1968. Then president Indira Gandhi had attended an event at this college at that time.
Jayantibhai was MLA of Upleta seat during 1985-1990. He was deputy whip of Congress party in assembly. He was Gujarat Congress’s General Secretary. When then Health minister Vallabhbhai Patel passed away, Jayantibhai was inducted to ministery as Minister of state for Health in Madhavsinh Solanki government.
Jayantibhai lives in Rajkot West area for last 30 years. He is involved in activities of Umiya mata mandir, Sidsar, Sardar Bhavan, Vijapura vidya sankul, Uma hospital etc.
He is disciple of Mujka ashram’s Swami Parmatmanandji and has studied Vedant, Upnishad and Gita.
He is involved in construction business. His Alap group has built 250-300 residential societies. In Rajkot, the first society with single gate and cement road was built by him.
