BJP fields 7 Gujarati candidates,Congress 3,NCP 1,Shiv Sena, MNS 0

BJP has given highest number of tickets to Gujarati candidates in Mumbai for assembly general elections.
Out of total 36 assembly seats, BJP has given ticket to 7 Gujaratis including party spokesperson Atul Shah from Mumbadevi, former MLA Hemendra Mehta from Magathane, Yogesh Sagar from Charkop, Manoj Kotak Bhandup(West), Dr. Ram Barot Malad(East), Mihir Kotecha Vadala and Prakash Mehta Ghatkopar(East).
Congress given ticket to only three Gujaratis that include Sushi Shah, Chairperson of Maharashtra State Commission for Women from Malbar Hill, Pravin Chheda from Ghatkopar(East) and Bharat Parekh from Charkop.
NCP has given ticket to only one Gujarati candidate, Govind Parmar from Dharavi while Shiv Sena and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena have not fielded any single Gujarati candidate.
There will be two assembly seats where Gujaratis with contest against each other. On Ghatkopar(East) seat BJP’s Prakash Mehta is contesting against Congress’s Pravin Chheda while on Charkop seat, Congress’s Bharat Parekh is contesting against BJP’s Yogesh Sagar.
