Fruit market in Vanthli in Gujarat is witnessing arrival of daily 1500-2000 boxes of custard apple for last fortnight.
Due to increased use of custard apple in Basudi, Ice cream and other products, its prices have increases substantially in last five years. Farmers get Rs. 150-1500 price per 10 kg box.
Vanthli fruit market’s custard apple travel to markets of Vadodara, Surat, Ahmedabad and other places.
Farmers from Kajaliyala, Kanajdi, Shapur, Piplana, Bodka, Agatray, Dhoraji etc places come to Vanthli market to sell their custard apples.
While a custard apple with 15 rounds get highest price, a fruit with 70 eyes attracts lowest price.
Increased revenue from custard apple farming has made Diwali better for the farmers of this belt for last five years.
