Two antique revolvers, one gold paved sword case stolen from Sayaji museum

There has been an incident of theft of two antique revolvers and one gold paved case of sword at Vadodara’s Sayaji baug museum(Baroda Museum & Picture Gallery).
Curator of museum Vijaybhai Mangalbhai Patel in his complaint filed at Sayajigunj police station stated that two revolvers (value around Rs. 50,000) and one gold paved case of sword(value around Rs. 2,000) were stolen from the museum between 6.00 pm on 22 October and 9.00 am on 26 October.The museum was closed during this period(23-24-25 October) due to Diwali. It was reopened today morning at 9.00 am, when broken grill/window and theft of three antique items was noticed.
Speaking to DeshGujarat, Vijaybhai Patel said that revolvers were gifted to the museum by one Bhatia sir on 30th August 2014, and they were put in display. He said the sword case was in display in museum since 1986 and it has beautiful carving depicting elephant, cancer etc.
He said through museum was closed, guards were there on duty.
