Salaya plans 108 ambulance style service for garbage collection

Salaya Municipality and local chamber of commerce are jointly planning 108 ambulance like service of garbage collection.
One has to call 108 to call ambulance. Similarly there will be a service dedicated to garbage collection on call.
A meeting in this connection has been planned at 3.00 pm on 13 November in Lohana Mahajan Vadi.
As per the plan, each shop owner will have to compulsorily keep dustbin which will be unloaded by municipality staff daily in the morning during 9.00 am – 12.00 noon. One who fails to follow this rule will face Rs. 50 fine.
Additionally, Municipality will employ one driver, two sweepers and one vehicle dedicated to 8 hours job of garbage collection. This service will be available on call like 108 ambulance service.
Local Municipality and Vepari Mahamandal has decided to not to take photographs of cleaning job with brooms in the hands of leaders, but to establish a permanent system for removal of garbage.
