Sidhee Cement resumes operations after MoEF clearance

Gujarat Sidhee Cement said the company has got limestone mining clearance and normal operations from plants has been restored.
On 5 November this year, Gujarat Sidhee Cement Limited had informed the Stock Exchange that the mining of limestone in Captive Mines had been stopped on the basis of an Order of Ministry of Environment & Forest (MoEF). This had adversely affected production and operations of the Company.
The Company was in the process of getting the clearance for mining of limestone from Ministry of Enviornment and Forest.
Gujarat Sidhee Cement Limited (GSCL) was originally set up as a joint venture between the Gujarat Industrial Investment Corporation and The Mehta Group. GSCL’s plant is located at Sidheegram in Sutrapada Taluka, District Junagadh, Gujarat State, India.
Because of its proximity to the Porbandar and Pipavav ports, it has competitive access to the large export markets in the Africa, Middle East countries, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh by the economical sea route.
