Gujarat’s second biggest museum likely to be ready in a month

Gujarat’s second biggest museum is likely to be opened by Chief Minister in a one month period or so.
Two former museums of Junagadh city – Darbar hall museum and Sakkarbaug museum were closed early this year for visitors, and all antiquities and display items were shifted to Taj Manjil to merge both museum and make a single stop destination for visitors and tourists. Both former museum are at present in process of merger at Taj Manzil building. The task is likely to complete in a month period.
Over 5,000 antique display items belonging to past centuries will be put in display at Taj Manzil museum. They include over 2300 articles from former Sakkarbag museum and 2500 articles of former Darbar hall museum.
There will be more than 10 galleries in new museum which include Jhummar gallery, silver gallery, sculptor gallery, wooden gallery, painting gallery, glass gallery, textile gallery, coin gallery, weapons gallery and natural history gallery.
The new museum will have proper and sufficient parking facility unlike the old museum. Nawabi era building of Taj Manzil is being decorated at present to make it ready for visitors.
