Museum on Morarji Desai likely to open in February 2015 in Gujarat

Former Prime Minister Morarji Desai’s home town Valsad will have a museum dedicated to Desai. The museum is likely to be opened by Gujarat Chief Minister in February. The museum has been developed by local municipality at a cost of Rs. 4 crore. The museum will have hundreds of pictures of Morarji Desai. it will also have audio-visual facility. Municipality is planning to introduce entry-free to generate fund for maintenance of the museum.
Morarji Desai, the only Gujarati prime minister other than Narendra Modi was cremated in Ahmedabad after his demise in Mumbai. The place has been named as ‘Abhay Ghat’ and developed in a style of Rajghat in Delhi. The museum, once ready will be second place in Gujarat associated with him.
