Two BJP MLAs of Vadodara district Ketan Inamdar(Savli) and Madhu Shrivastav(Vaghodia) have written recommendation letters for release of PASA detainee Rafiq Rathod. Rathod was arrested for firing in Gorva land dispute. As he managed to get anticipatory bail from the High Court ahead of his arrest, the police commissioner had ordered PASA detention against him. Rathod was sent to Bhuj jail.

Within ten days of his detention, three BJP MLA were approached to recommend his release. Two of them wrote recommendation letters while one refused considering Rathod’s track record.

Accused Rathod faced rioting offense in 1992. In 2011-12 he was found involved in kidnapping. In 2014 his name emerged in a dispute between a builder and a transporter.
