Sumul announces cattle feed plant in Tapi, interest free loan to women

In presence of Gujarat Chief Minister, Sumul Dairy chief Mansinhbhai Patel today addressing a women’s convention said that Sumul dairy has given Rs. 73 crore loan to women under Sanmay Yojana to purchase cattle for milk production. He said Sumul will give interest-free loan to women for purchase of cattle from year 2016. He appealed women to take benefit of Sumul’s kitchen garden development scheme.

Mansinh Patel said Sumul dairy will set up Rs. 20 crore cattle feed unit in Tapi district. This money will be spent from Rs. 63 crore allotment by the state government.

He said Sumul Dairy affiliated 1025 milk producing groups have 2500 women members in executive committees. 150 groups are run by women.

Chief Minister of Gujarat on this occasion admired the achievement of Shakuntalaben from Bedchitt who cultivates 12600 kg lady finger, Snehlataben Chaudhary who has 13 cows and 9 calves, Shilaben Patel who cultivates 150 tonne banana in 2 hectare land through drip irrigation and Manishaben Kathod for her success in animal husbandry.

Water supply projects

Speaking at women’s convention in tribal Tapi district in south Gujarat today, Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel said Rs.450 crore Kanja group water supply project will make availability of drinking water to areas of Surat and Tapi dstricts while Rs. 63 crore Borisagar group water supply project will make availibility of drinking water in 80 villages.
