1 km long railway over bridge opened on Viramgam highway

Gujarat Chief Minister today inaugurated a new railway over bridge on state highway number 07 connecting Viramgam-Bechraji and north Gujarat.

The railway over bridge has been constructed at a cost of Rs 3451.57 lakh with equal contribution of centre and state. It is about one km long with 7.50 meter causeway. The length of approach on Bechraji side is 46.30 meter while on Viramgam side it is 447.84 meter.

Viramgam is the main junction on railway lines that connect rest of India to Saurashtra and Kutch. Due to constant movement of trains the crossing was frequently closed, causing traffic jam and delay.

With construction of over bridge at Viramgam and Nilki crossing, ambulance, school buses, ST bsues, police van, employees and others will be able to have smoother and faster journey.

The bridge was approved in year 2012 after which Viramgam Municipality completed tender process. Road and Building department, Government of Gujarat has completed and opened the bridge for public.

Gujarat Chief Minister today also inaugurated Rs 6 crore Mandal ITI complex. Ground breaking for Rs 2 crore building of Viramgam Municipality was also performed today.
