More assistance to family of cop killed in Patidar violence

A 91-year old widow of freedom fighter in Surat has decided to contribute Rs 21,000 to family of martyr constable Dilip Rathwa.
Rathwa(29), a Lok Rakshak Dal police jawan was killed by mob during Patidar rampage this week when on duty.
Widow lady of freedom fighter gets Rs 21,000 pension from the state government every month. City police commissioner Rakesh Asthana visited widow’s home in Moti Ved area to receive the cheque.
According to Nursing Association president Iqbal Kadiwala, his association will contribute Rs 21,000 to Dilipbhai’s family. The cheque will be presented to city police commissioner on Tuesday.
Retired DySP GV Desai has decided to contribute Rs 25,000 to welfare fund for martyr jawan’s family.
It should be mentioned that Rathwa was in police for last four years. As he had not completed five years in job, his family is not suitable to get any official assistance from the government. Rathwa was working for Chowk Bazar police station. He was killed during Patidar rampage in Dabholi area when he tried to save a house of other community(same religion) person. A rioting group was trying to set the house on fire when Rathwa and two other cops intervened. Inspector Manojsinh Chavda and constable Prakash were injured in this incident while Rathwa was declared dead in hospital.
Local police station staff has already committed Rs 51,000 assistance to Rathwa as imidiate relief.
Jinagya Trust, Kamdhenu Gauraksha Trust, Pilod Education Trust etc are other organization that have committed contribution. Pipload Education Trust has made an announcement to take responsibility of education of children of Rathwa for lifetime.
Gujarat Police chief PC Thakur has made announcement that all 70,000 cops of state police will contribute one day salary to Rathwa’s family.
