On Saturday-Sunday if schedule permits, “I don’t sleep without watching Jhalak Dikhlaa Jaa on TV,” said Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel while speaking at the launching function of govt run ‘Vande Gujarat’ TV network that has 16 knowledge based TV channels. Anandiben said she likes the progrmame as it showcases talented children. She particularly mentioned one artist ‘Iswhar’ and said, “I watched a talented artist Ishwar(in Jhalak Dikhlaa Jaa), who could make sparrow, parrot, elephant, peacock, tree etc using his fingers. We should call such artists so that they can teach their skills to our youths. Employment is not just about making tea and training guides, other avenues too can provide employment.Wherever we spot talent, we should not just watch and sit but bring it to Gujarat. I asked (officials) to give rent, fare, stay facilities for a month in Gujarat(to that artist) so that he could teach skills to our youths.”
Anandiben in her speech gave ideas on varieties of kinds of knowledge and skill oriented TV progammes that could be produced for Vande Gujarat network channels. Some of the types of programmes she suggested include preventive health, inspirational personalities, foreign languages skills, agriculture among others.
