PAAS leaders Chirag and Dinesh Patel arrested: DCP Crime Branch

The Crime Branch of Ahmedabad police today arrested two of the close aides of Patidar agitation leader Hardik Patel, under charges of sedition and conspiracy to overthrow a duly elected government in a dramatic way while they were coming out of the High Court after a hearing on a petition challenging leveling of sedition charges against Hardik by Surat Police.
DCP crime branch D Bhadran said that the crime branch has arrested Dinesh Bhambhaniya and Chiarag Patel in a case (number 90/2015) in which four more have been booked for trying to overthrow the duly elected government The act of sedition is also included in it.
‘A total of six person have been booked in it. we have arrested two of them today,’ said Crime Branch official.
One of six booked is Hardik Patel who is on remand in Surat police’s custody. Ahmedabad Crime Branch said Hardik will be taken to Ahmedabad through transfer warrant.
Crime Branch said the case has been lodged after collecting evidences including intercepts and surveillance. Burning of ST buses, road blockades, attacking properties of MLAs and ministers, throwing soda bottles were some of the instructions given to people.
