Rs 1903 crore Mudra loan approved for 2.32 lakh small entrepreneurs in Gujarat

Under Prime Minister ‘Mudra’ Yojna which inspires youth of India to become small industrialist and self-reliant through self-employment, Gujarat has approved assistance worth Rs. 1,903 crore to 2,32,063 beneficiaries within October-2015 from nationalized banks.

The central government led by Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi has initiated Prime Minister MUDRA (Micro Units Development and Refinance Agency) – a multi-purpose scheme for assistance to develop their independent small industries for more than 65% youth of India. And as a part of the scheme assistance has been given to the youth entrepreneur in three catagories such as ‘Shishu’ for the financial assistance up to Rs. 50,000, ‘Kishor’ for financial assistance from Rs. 50,000 to Rs. 5,00,000 and ‘Tarun’ for financial assistance from Rs. 5,00,000 to Rs. 10,00,000.

Gujarat Chief Minister Mrs. Anandiben Patel led Government has performed positive role to provide benefit of MUDRA yojna to the youth entrepreneurs of the state for approval of their loan from the nationalized banks. State Government has organized camps for fifteen days in 33 districts during September 25 to Gandhi Jayanti – October 2.

Gujarat has performed notable progress in all the three sectors of the MUDRA scheme such as Shishu, Kishor and Tarun to provide new inspiration to the small industrialists – self-employed youth.

Applications made by the industrialists – self-employed youth under ‘Shishu’ Yojna for financial assistance within Rs. 50,000; 1,84,052 applications has been approved and Rs. 209.14 crore has been distributed to the beneficiaries. The industrialists who needs financial assistance within Rs. 50,000 to Rs. 5,00,000, were covered under ‘Kishor’ category of the scheme and 38,029 applications has been approved and Rs. 857.40 crore has been distributed to the beneficiaries. The state government has approved 9,982 applications made by eligible industrialists needs financial assistance within Rs. 5,00,000 to Rs. 10,00,000, were covered under ‘Tarun’ category and Rs. 712.67 crore has been distributed to the beneficiaries.
