The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation(AMC) today in a statement conveyed that Kankaria Lake Front will remain close for visitors on Friday, January 1, 2016 for administrative reasons. It should be noted that entry to Kankaria lake front has been made free during the anual Kankaria Carnival which is taking place during 25 – 31 December. Lighting, stages, sitting arrangements etc have been made during the carnival period. During the closure on Friday this setup will be dismantled and cleaning work will be done. All attractions at Kankaria lake front will therefore remain close for visitors.
