APMC – Motera Metro line works will be completed in 3 years: Gautam

At the function to launch works for Ahmedabad Metro North-South corridor line-2 in Jivraj Park area of Ahmedabad – West, Managing Director of MEGA Company Limited Shri IP Gautam said all works on this 19-km line connecting APMC(Vishala circle) to Motera will be completed in less than 3 years period.

Gautam thanked the government of India for deputing four engineers to this project for its smooth completion.

This is important because most of the portion of this particular Metro rail route is going to be constructed in railways land, just next to the existing Botad line.

Gautam in his speech didn’t forget to take note of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi who has played key role for success of this project.

He said, “as soon as Shri Modi came to power in centre, he reviewed the project and gave approval to it in November 2014 itself. As a result of this, the ground breaking for this project was performed in the month of March last year and works are in progress in full speed.”

Gautam took note of Prime Minister’s efforts for approval of JICA lon at 1.4% interest rate, payable from year 2026 onward.

He also spoke about how Prime Minister Modi approved long pending demand of permission to use railways land for Metro rail line.

“The demand for approval to use railways land for Metro line was pending since 2011 when Shri Modi was Chief Minister of Gujarat. Then he came to power in centre and gave approval to that proposal,” Gautam said.

Gautam praised Municipal Commissioner D.Thara and said the works for metro project will continue with support of AMC. He thanked central government for deputing four chief engineers to metro project.

In her speech, Chief Minister Anandiben Patel said that govt is also mulling to start metro rail project in Surat city of Gujarat.
