Trial run of Gujarat’s first auto-gear electric bus will commence today in Rajkot. A Chinese company has given this bus to Rajkot Municipal Corporation(RMC) for free for trail run. The bus will run on route no. 18 during 18-23 January and on route no. 42 during 24-30 January. The bus has 31-seat capacity. As per company’s claim this bus can run for 240 km after 8-hour long charging period for battery. The trial run may take one month period after which civic body will take decision on whether to make it permanent or continue with diesel bus purchase.
