2nd phase of packaging film plant of IDMC opens in Gujarat

National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) Chairman, T. Nanda Kumar today inaugurated the second phase of Packaging Film Plant of the Indian Dairy Manufacturing Company Limited ( IDMC Limited), leading dairy equipment, food projects and systems integration business company which offers a range of processing and packaging solutions to make food safe, in Vithal Udyognagar, near Anand.
The second phase entails an investment of Rs. 76.4 crore and with it the company will have a combined annual capacity to manufacture about 12000 tons of food grade poly films and laminates.
Combined with the initial investment of Rs. 31.4 crore, IDMC’s total investment in plant and machinery for making available high quality yet affordable printed poly film, laminates and pouches is in excess of Rs.100 crore.
The lines of business serviced by the company, established in 1978 and formally incorporated as a wholly owned subsidiary of the NDDB in 1992,
include liquid milk and milk products, edible oils, frozen vegetables,
personal care products and other consumer goods. Its turnover is expected to be over Rs. 500 crore in FY 2015-16.
In his address Mr. Nanda Kumar said that IDMC would continue to be inspired by NDDB’s philosophy and focus on businesses, technologies, products and services that best serve the interests of farmers. “IDMC will also strive to work with greater innovation to offer solutions that have a much lower impact on the environment and yet maximize productivity and efficiency,” he added.
