Ashish Kachrola, a youth from Tikar village of Halvad taluka had consumed poison on Thursday near Maliya. He was taken to hospital in Morbi.

Morbi is one of the worst affected area of Patidar “quota” agitation.

Ashish gave primary statement that eh atempted suicide to seek Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti(PAAS) leader Hardik Patel’s release from jail.

Later late in the evening he in his statement told Mamlatdar Kanubhai Bati that he was facing allegation of Rs 1 lakh swindling in courier firm. He was fearing from possible reaction from his family if they come to know about the matter.

He told Mamlatdar that some people from Patidar community asked him to pretend as if had attempted suicide for his community and for release of agitation leader Hardik Patel.
