Gujarat govt announces Agricultural business policy 2016

Gujarat government today announced a new comprehensive Agricultural Business Policy-2016 which intends to strengthen the entire value chain from farm to foreign.
Some of the features of this policy are following:
– 25% of project cost subsidy upto Rs 50 lakh to set up, expand, diversify, modernize the agro and food processing unit.
– 25% of project cost subsidy upto Rs 500 lakh for cold chain, food irradiation plant, pack house, food park etc.
– 25% of project cost subsidy upto Rs 250 lakh to set up primary processing center, collection center in rural area.
– 7.5% interest assistance on term loan in limit of maximum Rs 150 lakh for five years period to set up agro and food processing unit, it expansion, diversification and modernization.
– 7.5% interest assistance on term loan in limit of Rs 400 lakh for five years period to set up infra project for agro and food processing sector such as controlled atmosphere cold storage, food irradiation plant, pack house, food park, refer van etc.
– Additional 1% interest assistance for SC/ST/Divyang/Women entrepreneurs and young entrepreneurs below 35 age group.
