Results of total 1270 students who appeared in Gujarat board exams in March 2016 are canceled as they were found to have committed cheating in exam in CCTV footage. The footage was checked after the results were declared.

Gujarat board had made it compulsory to have CCTV camera with recording facility in exam rooms. After the exams were over, footage of various cameras was checked in which 1270 students were found to have done cheating. The students were called for hearing after which result of one subject was canceled in case of 116 students while all subject result was canceled in case of 1124 students. 24 students were found innocent at the end of hearing. 4 students were banned from appearing in board exam for 2 years while 2 were banned for 3 years.

It should be mentioned that Gujarat Board has also started operating a live control room for last few years where live video footage of examination rooms from sensitive exam centers is relayed through internet.
