GNLU, one of the top 5 Indian Law University, to celebrate 13th foundation day on July 17

Gandhinagar: Gujarat National Law University (GNLU), one of the top five law universities in the country, will celebrate its 13 th foundation day on July 17.
The GNLU established by the Government of Gujarat during the regime of the then Chief Minister Narendra Modi under the Gujarat National Law University Act, 2003 is one of the 16 National Law Universities of India.
Director Professor Dr. Bimal N Patel toay said that woman judge of Gujarat High Court Ms. Justice Sonia Goklani would be the chief guest on the occasion which would also be attended by Prof. (Dr.) Upendra Baxi, Emeritus Professor of Law, University of Warwirck, England as the guest of honour.
The event will witness a presentation of awards and certificates to the
faculty, staff and students for their outstanding achievements and will also have a release of GNLU publications. This will be followed by a cultural programme by the students of GNLU, he said adding that the institution has consistently maintained its rank among the top five law education institutions in the country for the past few years.
Being a research sased teaching university and committed to address the contemporary legal issues, its objective has always been to provide world class legal education which has been reflected through its activities over the years, the director said.
