Note from BAPS on Prayer Meeting:

At the Prayer Assembly on the occasion of the demise of HH Pramukh Swami Maharaj, senior sadhus of the Sanstha reminisced about their cherished and valued association with Swamishri. The prayer assembly also stood witness to the public reading of the letter written by Pramukh Swami himself, naming HH Mahant Swami as the new head (President) and Guru of BAPS. The event evoked mixed feelings: the deep loss of Guru Pramukh Swami for one and on the other hand the assurance of Bhagwan Swaminarayan that His spiritual light shall forever remain through a continued legacy of Gunatit gurus. Pujya Doctor Swami read out the letter by Pramukh Swami, dated 20th July, 2012, declaring Mahant Swami as the head of BAPS and his spiritual successor, amidst thunderous applause and reverence.

Pujya Ishwarcharan Swami said that Bhagwan Swaminarayan’s life was an unparalled one. His mission to elevate and uplift one and all is clear through his teachings and work. We are fortunate that we now have HH Mahant Swami to look up to in matters of our spiritual upliftment and liberation.

Pujya Viveksagar Swami briefly reminisced his 42-year long vicharan with Pramukh Swami, elaborating about his Herculean efforts for the uplift of countless, and his pristine saintliness. He said that we will continue to benefit in temporal and spiritual matters through Mahant Swami. He appreciated the saintliness and simplicity of HH Mahant Swami as observed by him over the years.
Pujya Tyagvallabh Swami emphasized that Bhagwan and his realized Sadhu take human form, impart to us wisdom and bliss, and when the time comes they depart from earth. If looked at through the prism of Bhagwan Swaminarayan’s teachings they neither come nor go. Bhagwan is always there with us, guiding us through thick and thin. We are greatly indebted to Pramukh Swami, for he has gifted us Mahant Swami under whose guidance we shall continue to progress and prosper spiritually.

Finally, HH Mahant Swami blessed the historic gathering. With his calm and enlightened composure, he credited Bhagwan Swaminarayan, Shastriji Maharaj, Yogiji Maharaj and guru Pramukh Swami Maharaj for spreading the message of Akshar-Purshottam upasana, mutual brotherhood, unity and togetherness. Time and again during his short, yet crisp and impactful talk, he insisted that we tread the path of unity because unity in essence has catapulted the Sanstha to great spiritual heights and success. His talk struck a divine chord with the sadhus and devotees in attendance.
Undoubtedly, the prayer meet will forever remain etched in the hearts of all.
