PM Narendra Modi arrives at Jamnagar to inaugurate SAUNI, says this scheme will truly benefit the people of Gujarat

Rajkot: Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi arrived at Jamnagar airport in Gujarat today to inaugurate the first phase of SAUNI Yojana in Saurashtra region of Gujarat. The Yojana envisages to connect 115 dams of Saurashtra region to Narmada dam flood water. The Prime Minister is going to inaugurate connectivity of 10 dams to Narmada water today. The PM will travel from Jamnagar to Sanosara which is the venue of the inauguration function located near AAJI-3 dam in Jamnagar district. These ten dams that are to be connected to Narmada dam waters today are part of first of four links of SAUNI Yojana. First link will benefit the districts of Morbi, Rajkot, Jamnagar and Devbhoomi Dwarka in Saurashtra region.

The Prime Minister moved to Aaji dam site which is the venue of the inauguration of SAUNI Yojana by road instead of flying by helicopter due to bad weather. It should be mentioned that the administration had created three helipads for Prime Minister and his convoy. With changed plan of PM’s journey to dam site, the function is bit delayed.

Earlier in the morning before living for Gujarat, Prime Minister in his tweet said: Looking forward to being in Gujarat today for the launch of SAUNI Yojana. This scheme will truly benefit the people of Gujarat.
