PM Narendra Modi dedicates first phase of link-1 of SAUNI project at Aaji-3 dam site

Rajkot: Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi today dedicated SAUNI Yojana at AAJI-3 dam site in Jamnagar district of Gujarat.

The Prime Minister arrived at Jamnagar airport from Delhi in Indian Air Force plane and drove to Aaji-3 dam site located 60 km away from Jamnagar airport.

Prime Minister was to reach AAJI-3 site in helicopter but due to bad weather he had to travel by road.

At AAJI-3 site, Prime Minister Modi was welcomed by Gujarat Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister, Minister Nanubhai Vanani and government officials representing Irrigation department of Government of Gujarat. The Prime Minister was briefly showcased the details of first phase of link-1 of SAUNI project he was to inaugurate today.

Later Modi pushed a button and opened three gates of the dam to release Narmada waters.

Modi went to frontal side of the dam and watched flowing water of Narmada to other linked dams with smile.

The dam had big banners welcoming Modi.

As soon as live telecast of inauguration was relayed on big screen at public function in Sanosara, people were heard cheering loudly.

Modi after completing inauguration process at AAJI-3 dam site traveled to venue of public function organized at some distance away at Sanosara village.

Earlier in the morning before living for Gujarat, Prime Minister in his tweet said: Looking forward to being in Gujarat today for the launch of SAUNI Yojana. This scheme will truly benefit the people of Gujarat.
