One km area in Ahmedabad declared bird flue hit, 10 km area put under alert

Ahmedabad: One km area with Asha Foundation shelter as its center point has been declared bird flue hit in Ahmedabad. Asha Foundation is volunteer organization which functions in Hathijan area of Ahmedabad as shelter and care center for abandoned and ill animals and birds.
According to district administration of Ahmedabad, 10 km area around Asha foundation has been put under alert for bird flue.
The district administration has banned transportation of eggs, dead birds, discharge of birds, farm machinery, equipment or any other infected thing from and to this area.
Humans that have come into contact with bird flue(H5N1) infected birds can catch infection. Bird Flue is found mainly in birds. It spreads through Avian Influenza (H5N1) virus and spread speedily. Birds show breathing related and reddish eyes symptoms.
District Panchayat has announced 079-25503832 as control room number.
