Ahmedabad: Three top office bearers of the Gujarat Cricket Association including its Chief Executive Officer (CEO) cum treasurer Dheerajbhai Jogani today resigned from their posts in the wake of the recent acceptance of Lodha Committee’s recommendations by the Supreme Court.
Apart from Jogani, Vice President Kanhaiya Lal Contractor and Secretary Rajesh Patel also resigned from their respective posts citing the restrictions of maximum 9 years for holding offices in a cricket body.
All the three had surpassed the 9 years limit in this regard. They announced their resignations on the occasion of the foundation laying of the world’s largest cricket association here.
Notably, secretary of Rajkot based Saurashtra Cricket Association, Niranjan Shah and three other top office bearers had to quit their posts earlier owing to another restriction of maximum age limit of 70 years for holding any office.
